Gave it a try this afternoon!!! (and procrastinated on my japanese in a way never seen before hahaha).
A quick review of what I experienced today: (posted on

With my not-that-good at all japanese, combined with the fact that my only RPG experience so far is with Pokemon games, it makes it so hard for me taking a grip on the mechanics of the game. I can understand what’s going on overall, and half of the vocabulary there. Sometimes completely lost during sorties, but so far I won all the battles I went to (Most of them were tutorial phases).
There are fleets (and you can team up several admirals + their fleets) and you can even build some yourself (once you get enough metals and stones of different sorts to build the ships). Every character has complex stats and I felt a bit overwhelmed/didn’t get what most of them were about, but it seems you can do very elaborated things once you understand all the parameters…if you’re good at strategies, that is…But I believe you can play like Bittenfeld all the way and still get through the game…
The game is very complex, and they were very thoughtful with how it inserts into the franchise, and it makes it a real plus, especially for the people who fancy LOGH for its battles (because it’s mostly what is it about).It completely sticks to the LOGH universe, in the most pleasant way. The designs are so pretty and I was so happy seeing Reinhard, Kircheis and Mittermeyer (so far). They go as far as making the characters at the right height difference. From what I can get, the speeches of the characters match perfectly with the way they behave in the show. I wish I could enjoy it as fully and happily as the japanese are, but I’ll settle with my current level and capacities and try to get as much things as possible ;u;
There are also many “useless” features but still very nice to see when you’re a fan, for example sometimes, when the game loads (and it loads A LOT…), there are small quotes from various characters, or tips.
There are some limitations but it seems the things you have to pay for are just items (you can otherwise get while playing) and progress faster or play more everyday. I hope I got it right, at least!
I don’t know if people who didn’t register before the preopen still can give a try to this beta version. Anyways you still have the opportunity to try it when the finale version is released! try. Anyways you still have the opportunity to try it when the finale version is released!
Reminder that the only way to access the game is to use a japanese VPN (here is a lil tutorial I made
http://lyrykenfandoms.tumblr.com/post/1 ... e-tutorial) - there are other ways but they didn't work well for me so I took the VPN option...
