(if someone wants to create a topic for non-anime works, feel free!)

I just:
- finished Macross Frontier (yes, I'm late)
- started the new series Macross Delta (2 episodes out to date)

And very soon:

I'm even later than you. I've only seen the first one and its Robotech adaptation.

Well, since you have a legal copy, I don't see the problem with torrenting some English or French subs to go along with it.

I picked up the American English Blu-Ray release of the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Actually pretty surprised that they fit 42 episodes onto four discs, and the video/audio quality is fantastic on them.

The Zeta Gundam Blu-Ray release, however, is a different story.

I'm not sure what they did, but the video quality is terrible on it. My DVD's being upscaled to 1080p don't look that bad.

I've only seen some movie versions of Gundam and Zeta Gundam, I still have to watch the series... maybe one day!

Did you try Iron-Blooded Orphans?
(I only watched the first episode)

The original Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy does a really good job of condensing the TV show. It cuts out a lot of superfluous episodes and a lot of the bad animation from the show being so cheap. The third movie in particular has a lot of footage completely reanimated.

The Zeta Gundam movie trilogy however does a really terrible job at it and even changes the ending of the show. If you ever rewatch Zeta Gundam, watch the show.

I haven't seen any of Iron-Blooded Orphans yet, though I just recently saw episodes 1 and 2 of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. Origin is alright, but it really can't stand on it's own without context from the original show, at least in my opinion.

Area 88 watched!
Really great OAVs, indeed much better than the 2000's TV show (which is yet quite good).
Thanks for the advise ;)

I am currently investing my time into Gundam turn A. This is my second time watching a gundam series. Rumor had that Turn A is the most unique kind of the Gundam family, and it focuses more into plot development rather than canned action scene. I took an interest and it's been good so far. Yoko Kanno being in it was a plus for me too.

Other than that I'm trying to catch on some other current season stuffs like Yuri on Ice and such.

What did you think of Tytania?
(it's on my watch list, but with a "not so high" priority; should I raise it?)
