Another idea: Make Iserlohn and Phezzan have a planet-like status, with slight differences:

- You must have to conquer/take Iserlohn first if you want to cross it. For instance, if Iserlohn is currently under the rule of the FPA, the Empire has to seize the fortress first (the same way you seize planets), before it is possible for anyone from the Empire to cross through Iserlohn.

- For Phezzan, if you are from the side who currently controls it, you can pass through without any problem. However, if you want to pass through and you are from the enemy side, you have to pay a tribute. The tribute should be a clover.

-> Setting these rules would however create one issue: one isolate fleet might remain "stuck" on a side of the galaxy, should both Phezzan and Iserlohn belong to the enemy, and the player have no clover to give to Phezzani. To this, we can imagine Phezzanis don't mind when the money comes as long as it eventually comes, so you can have a debt. It means you are allowed to cross, but the next clover you pick will be taken by Phezzan, and so on until you have 0 debt to Phezzan.

Not the most useful feature tho, but I thought it could be fun and keep the spirit of the series.

Good ideas!

Fezzan: I think this neutral planet should never be conquered by either one side or the other. Each time you want to cross Fezzan's territory, you have to pay.

Iserlohn: same as standard planets, with one peculiarity: Thor Hammer strikes every hour and destroy a few ships.
EDIT: Oh, another peculiarity: the SP (strategic points) value should affect its resistance level 8-)

Iserlohn has been added!
But Thor Hammer is not operational yet, so Iserlohn is for now not different from a standard planet.

I was thinking again about Fezzan...
I still think it should not be conquerable, and more than that: maybe there should be no fight in Fezzan star zone.
A harbour of peace where you can send your fleets when you go on holidays. Of course, it would not be free, Fezzanis are not altruistic people ^^
If it was free we'd have fleets staying forever --> not a good idea.

I agree that Phezzan shouldn't be a conquerable territory and that fare through Phezzan should be charged. But I wonder now what the currency for that fare would be and how it can be obtained?

As a compromise solution, I could also propose that Phezzan could have far stronger resistance levels that might take longer than 24 hours to lower. Would there be a way to perhaps code the resistance levels for Phezzan to convert in 3 days or longer?

I'm excited for the Thorshammer!

As for Fezzan, I also think it shouldn't be conquerable. Since our SCs and WCs are all we have in terms of valuables (well, aside from our ships/men) I agree with Ryder on making those the currency. Giving Fezzan a higher resistance level against conquests would be a compromise in terms of game mechanics, but I feel like it would be more faithful to the series to let it stay neutral.
