Lately with some members we've been discussing the possibility of creating a RolePlay section on these forums. Thus, I am lauching this topic so we can discuss on whether or not there are people interested in it, and if so, how you would like it to look like.

First of all, the RP would be related to the LOGH verse (obviously), and maybe to the KC game, however it would probably be separated from what's going on on the map, in the sense that you can totally take inspiration from the events, but nothing will change on the game to correspond to what happens in the RP. Basically the RP would be some kind of AU of the Kosmosinsel Chronicles LOGH fangame (are you still there? lol).

The point that should also be discussed would be where in the canon's chronology the RP would be set if we choose to make it important or better for creating situation we can RP on.

It would imply that you develop a character so he can interact with other characters in game if you want to play (like having a written ref sheet introducing your character's personality, bio, etc.)

If the RP gets a forum section of its own, it would need its own moderators (maybe two or three depending of the availability of candidates).

At the beginning, it would also need voluntaries to set the RP's rules and forms (i.e. forms to introduce your characters).

Although I really really like the idea myself and would be glad this kind of service opens here (I know no other place in the internet with a LOGH RP), I am honestly way to busy, committed to other projects (and tired lol) to take a significant part to all this (just giving a hand from time to time is all I'll probably do), but if there are people motivated to make it come true, just let your voice be heard~

As discussed with you, I really love the idea!

Not in the sense that I would participate much to this role play (I have never been a big fan of role playing; it's a shame, I know...), but in the sense that I would be very happy to host it here, somewhere on these forums.

So if some of you are interested, I really encourage this initiative

Maybe there's no need to sign with your blood right now. If some of you want to try, let's try and we'll see.
If it happens to work, that will mean that some people took time for it, and then we can see who are the best candidates for moderation.

Anyway, opening a new dedicated forum section would likely take me about 2mn.

As I said on Twitter I would be really interested as well, but looking back at my schedule over the last weeks (and ahead at the coming ones) I fear that I am actually in the same situation as all of you.

Granted, we arguably already do some very basic RP in our "secret" forums (or at least the Empire does, but I'm sure the FPA is no different) by discussing our strategies. Perhaps that will be enough for the time being... but I think the RP sub-forum a worthwhile idea to keep in mind for when more people voice their interest and everybody gets freed up a bit more (perhaps during summer?).

I like this idea as well. If this ever gets going, I would be willing to help out and participate. I have RPed before on other sites, set in other universes, and having an LOGH RP sounds like it would be very interesting.

As for at what time on the canon timeline the RP would be set, I would suggest sometime early on during the Alliance-Imperial War, probably sometime in the first few decades after it began in 640 UC. That way, there would be quite a bit of creative freedom without contradicting canon events (after the Battle of Dagon in 640 UC the next known canon event is in 696 UC).

Question: is your proposal related to Kosmosinsel Chronicles or not?
Let me explain: let's say for example that the story takes place in 660 UC. Will you play an ancestor of your actual character Konstantin von Radetz, or another character who will not be related to the game at all?

Note that both solutions suit me well, I would be happy to host it in any case.

I am not sure, we should probably ask the others on what they think. This could still be an AU of the KC game, with the difference being that it takes places a lot earlier that this game does, in which case my character would still be Konstantin von Radetz. However, if people want this to be completely unrelated to the KC game, we could do that, and I'll use a different given name for my character and have him be unrelated to the game.

I wouldn't have a problem at all with canon characters being part of it! After all we can assume that they interact with many other colleagues, subordinates, etc, that we never see on screen or mentioned in the books.

Now of course technically our characters are all of Fleet Admiral rank, but we still serve under the flags of Brünhild, Barbarossa and Königstiger. Not sure how we would address that, or if we would just handwave it.

I agree with the idea of setting the RP in another era. To me the most logical solution then would be to create a characters that bears the same name as our in-game character, but not the same first name, as the timeline is different. Therefore, the character we RP would be some kind of ancestor or relative to the one in present, in-game time. Also allows us to choose more freely what kind of character we can RP: it can even be something different from a soldier!
