There is something bothering me in the game-play and I can't figure if it's good or not.

Should we be able to see allied fleet size ?
For now it's impossible.

It can be a good point if you see a fleet that will be in danger soon and you want to reinforce the fight.
But in another hand if someone creates an account in the other side he will be able to get those infos too.

Maybe limiting those infos visibility to the 2 next moves radius possibilities would resolve this problem.
Maybe just have an approximate idea of the size :
- section (1-10), battalion (11-100), platoon (101, 500), company (500+).

Any idea about that ?

Interesting proposal, thanks!

At first glance: you're right about the possibility of spies. As the map is quite small for the moment, a two moves radius combined to the fact that you can have multiple fleets at the four corners of the map can be proportionately very large...

I have to meditate about it... let's take a nap ^^

*Wahhhh...*
(waking up)

Hum... maybe I got an idea.
The forum of the game (the one you're currently reading) is based on the world most widely used forum software: phpBB.
This forum solution offers a lot of features, including a maybe interesting one: the possibility to add friends and foes among the members of the forum.
http://forum.kosmosinsel.net/ucp.php?i=177

I don't precisely know what it means in the forum...
BUT: maybe we can use this functionality to address our current issue!

I think I can program the game to use this information so you can share your fleet informations with the players that you have identified as friends on the forum.
In addition, I can probably automatically add your battlefield allies as friends (and if you suspect a battlefield ally to be an enemy spy, you can manually remove him from your friend list).

And that means that if you want to, you can leak your fleet informations to the enemy :D

What do you think?

it seems like a simple but effective solution.
Do you think you can add a shortcut/summary somewhere on the galaxy map to consult it ?

Or maybe the top menu ?

I haven't done that yet, not sure it's a good idea... so the "friends" management is 100% manual.

*sob* I'm nobody's friend

Maybe I should promote/explain a little more what this friend's management is about, I'll do that as soon as possible!

I'm working on this spy issue, so don't be surprised if you meet one somewhere on the map ;)

It's not possible to avoid spies, but I try to limit their influence and make people think twice before using a spy character! :D
