You sure have noticed that the game has been very quiet these last months.
I wish I had made new updates, with Fezzan becoming a trading place, and a few other things... but until now I didn't, and I likely won't in the near future.
We are here for a few years now and it's quite normal to get bored at some time when nothing new happens.
Furthermore, strategically speaking, the situation is complicated, with balanced forces and only a few active players left.

I see several options:
- let the game continue to die slowly
- definitely end the game
- end this game by signing peace between GE and FPA, and retiring all the current characters (and dismantle all the fleets)

The third option let open the possibility of a rebirth if some players (old or new) want to take a fresh start.
Actually there are only two possible status for a character: active or dead. To make possible a third status (retired), I would have to make some changes in the source code, but I hope it won't be too complicated.

What do you think?

Going for the third option seems to be the best decision to make in my view.

It's true, life has brought many of us new demands and distractions, as it tends to go...

If few or no active players remain I, personally, would favour the idea of wrapping the game up with a peace treaty, that would lend it a happy ending! Of course history always cycles on into new conflicts, but our history book would close on a hopeful, uplifting note.

However as long as there are enough active players remaining the retirement option is a great solution to keep the game alive and at the same time take the inactive players out of the count!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for making such an enjoyable game for us and adding so many lovely, thoughtful details. I spent many heated battles here, trying to be the tactician I needed to be for my men. :D

Thanks to you Schmitt! Whatever happens hereafter, I definetly enjoyed the time spent here with you and the other players. These memories are really precious for me :)

I agree with everyone else. I'm sorry that I ended up dropping off, but it's just gotten busy for me and I ended up forgetting as well. Still, I would like an ending for peace instead of letting it die slowly. I still appreciate all the work you've placed into the game in the past years!

Thanks!
The situation has changed a bit since my message; not that I think that the game is reviving, the current battle will probably be an isolated case, but "peace" has now a different meaning since the status quo is over.

That's true! Well, I'll see what happens once this battle plays out.

Wow, that was such a big battle. I'm glad to have come back for it.

As for the fate of the game, I am not sure what should happen. I appreciate all the hard work you have done!

It's rather sad that this site is for all intents and purposes dead.
